What Is Deimix and How Does It Work?

What Is Deimix and How Does It Work?

Deimix is a WhatsApp-based customer engagement and automation platform for businesses.

In plain terms: it runs your business WhatsApp for you. Enquiries get answered, bookings get taken, reminders go out on time, campaigns go to the right group of customers, and every conversation is recorded in one place your whole team can see. When a customer needs a real person, the conversation is handed to your team.

Deimix is not a new app your customers have to install. They keep using WhatsApp exactly as they do now. What changes is your side — your business number moves onto proper business infrastructure, and software starts handling the repetitive part of the conversation.

This article explains what Deimix does, what you need to provide, who Meta and Twilio are in this picture, what you pay and to whom, and what onboarding actually looks like.

Prefer to see it rather than read it? The Deimix Explain guide walks through the same picture visually, section by section.

The problem this solves

Most businesses in India already do their real customer work on WhatsApp. The problem is never the channel — it’s what happens around it.

One phone holds all the conversations, and one person holds that phone. Enquiries come in at 9pm and get answered at 11am. Someone who asked about pricing three weeks ago is never followed up, because nobody remembers. Appointment no-shows happen because no reminder went out. The customer list exists, but it lives in a billing system, a notebook and three people’s heads at the same time.

Every one of those is a process problem, not a WhatsApp problem. Deimix is the process layer: it replies immediately, remembers who asked what, follows up on schedule, and keeps the record.

WhatsApp Business App vs WhatsApp Business Platform

There are two different WhatsApp products for businesses, and the difference matters before anything else makes sense.

The WhatsApp Business App is the free app you download. It’s a genuinely good product — profile, catalogue, quick replies, away message, labels. If one person handles all your customer chat and your list is small, it does the job, and there’s no reason to move off it.

The WhatsApp Business Platform (commonly referred to as the WhatsApp Business API) is the version built for business systems rather than phones. It has no app of its own. It’s an interface that software connects to, which is what makes automation, campaigns and shared team access possible.

WhatsApp Business App WhatsApp Business Platform
Built for One person, one phone A business system and a team
Team access Limited linked devices, no shared workflow Several people on one number, shared history
Broadcasts Capped list, sent manually in batches Segmented campaigns, subject to Meta’s account limits
Automation Quick replies, away message Guided flows, bookings, reminders, follow-up
Templates Not required Required for business-initiated messages
Records On the phone Logged in the platform
Setup Download and go Meta verification, approved templates, a provider
Cost Free Platform + Meta + provider charges

Deimix runs on the Platform because that’s the only version of WhatsApp that lets software send, route and record messages on a business number. It isn’t Deimix taking over your chat — it’s your business number moving onto business infrastructure.

The deeper technical picture is in The Complete WhatsApp Setup and Cost Guide. For a comparison of the two products on their own terms: WhatsApp Business App vs Business API.

Where Deimix sits

Four parties, and it’s worth knowing which is which:

Your business → Deimix → Twilio → Meta / WhatsApp

  • Your business owns the number, the customer relationships and the decisions.
  • Deimix is the software — the automation, campaigns, customer records and the console your team works in.
  • Twilio is the provider that carries messages between Deimix and WhatsApp.
  • Meta / WhatsApp owns the network, approves your business and your templates, and sets the rules everyone follows.

Deimix is not Meta and Deimix is not Twilio. Your relationships with Meta and Twilio are your own — your accounts, in your business’s name, with their charges billed directly to you. Deimix helps you set them up and then works on top of them. If you ever leave Deimix, those accounts and that number remain yours.

Do I need a new number?

Usually not. An existing WhatsApp number can often be transitioned onto the WhatsApp Business Platform where the setup supports it, and Deimix handles that process with you.

Two things worth thinking about first. Moving a number onto the Platform is a migration, not a copy, and how that number behaves afterwards depends on the setup being used — so it’s worth confirming what applies to your specific case before you start rather than after. We check that with you as part of onboarding. And if your “business” number is actually someone’s personal SIM, this is the right moment to fix that. A number that belongs to a staff member walks out with them; a number that belongs to the business doesn’t.

If you’d rather keep your existing number as-is and start clean, a new business number works perfectly well too. We’ll talk through which makes sense for your setup.

What Deimix can do for your business

Five short examples of what “automation” means in practice:

Enquiry. A customer messages asking about prices or availability. Deimix replies immediately with the answer, or offers buttons — services, timings, location, talk to a person.

Booking. The customer picks a service, a date and a time through a guided conversation. They get a confirmation. Your team sees the booking.

Reminder. A reminder goes out before the appointment, the delivery or the due date, without anyone remembering to send it.

Follow-up. Someone who says “I’ll think about it” enters a follow-up path and hears from you again at a sensible interval — not that evening, and not never.

Human handoff. A customer with a real question, a complaint, or a negotiation gets routed to your team, with the whole conversation history already there.

None of this replaces your people. It clears the repetitive 70% so your team spends time on the conversations that need a human.

How messages actually work

This is the part most vendors skip, and it’s the part that determines your bill.

Broadcasts. A broadcast is one message sent to a chosen group of customers — not a blast to everyone. Deimix adds the parts that make it useful: segmentation so the message goes to the right people, buttons so recipients can respond in one tap, automated paths for those who reply, follow-up for those who don’t, and handoff for those who want a person. Send relevant messages to people who expect to hear from you. Meta watches how customers react to your messages, and a business that annoys its list pays for it in reduced reach.

Templates. When your business starts a conversation, Meta requires the message to use a template it has approved in advance. Templates have categories — marketing, utility, authentication — and the category affects both how strictly it’s reviewed and what it costs to send. Meta can reassign a template’s category if it decides the one you chose doesn’t fit, and the pricing follows. Deimix drafts and structures your templates and submits them, though approval is always Meta’s decision. On what gets rejected and why: Why Your WhatsApp Template Keeps Getting Rejected.

When a customer messages you. A customer message opens a 24-hour customer service window. While that window is open, you can reply freely — normal messages, no template needed. If they message again, the window refreshes. When no window is open, you can only reach them with an approved template.

That window is the single most useful thing to understand about WhatsApp costs. Conversations your customers start are cheaper to run than conversations you start, which is why it’s worth giving people reasons to message you first.

One thing to be clear about: nothing here is free. Under Meta’s current pricing rules, ordinary replies inside an open window don’t attract a Meta template charge — but Meta reviews and updates its pricing rules periodically, so this is not a permanent guarantee. Twilio’s per-message fee applies to messages sent and received regardless of the window. So “everything is free for 24 hours” was never accurate, and the parts of it that were true are subject to change.

Meta’s pricing rules change periodically, so we’ve kept the rate detail out of this article. Current rates, categories and worked examples are in The Complete WhatsApp Setup and Cost Guide.

Using your existing customer list

If you already have a customer or enquiry list — a billing export, a spreadsheet, a booking register — and you have the right to contact those people, it can come into Deimix. Once it’s in, it can be organised and segmented: customers by service, by area, by last visit, by spend, by whatever distinction actually matters to your business.

That’s what makes campaigns worth sending. A message to the 400 customers who bought a specific category last season will always do more than the same message to 4,000 people at random.

Deimix does not supply, sell or source customer contact data. The list is yours, and so is the responsibility for having the right to use it.

What it costs

There are three separate bills. Keeping them separate is the whole point of this section.

Who charges you what

Who For what How it’s billed
Deimix The platform, automation, campaigns, customer records, console and setup support ₹4,999/month, billed by Deimix
Meta / WhatsApp Each template message you send, priced by category Billed to your own Meta account
Twilio A per-message fee on messages sent and received Billed to your own Twilio account

What ₹4,999/month is — and isn’t

Included in the subscription Not included
The Deimix platform and console Meta message charges
Automation, guided flows, follow-up paths Twilio per-message fees
Campaign and segment setup Your domain, if you buy one
Template drafting and submission Custom software builds
Contact organisation and segmentation

₹4,999 is the Deimix platform subscription. It is not a WhatsApp bill, and it does not cover Meta or Twilio. Those two charge at their own published rates, on your own accounts, and they can change their rates independently of us.

We keep these three charges separate on purpose. Meta’s and Twilio’s rates are set by them, apply to your own accounts, and can change without reference to us — so folding them into a single Deimix number would hide costs you should be able to see and question. Keeping them apart means you can always tell what you’re paying Deimix for the platform and what you’re paying the providers for the messages.

Deimix takes no per-message margin. What Meta and Twilio charge you is what they charge — we don’t add to it.

The Founding Member offer

The first 10 businesses to come on board get founding terms:

  • ₹4,999/month, locked for 12 months — the subscription price doesn’t move for a year
  • Setup free — onboarding, Meta connection, Twilio connection, template drafting, automation build and campaign configuration
  • $25/month of Deimix usage credit, issued monthly for 12 months

The credit is worth being precise about, because promotional credits are usually described vaguely on purpose.

It is a Deimix-side promotional credit. It applies to eligible Deimix usage — the per-use platform operations that sit inside your account. It does not pay Meta. It does not pay Twilio. It does not reduce the ₹4,999 subscription. It’s issued fresh each month for twelve months; unused credit doesn’t roll over and doesn’t convert to cash. Usage beyond the available credit runs through the normal Deimix usage balance.

₹4,999 is the base platform subscription. Founding members pay the same subscription with the founding benefits added on top for twelve months. Terms after that period, and terms for businesses joining later, are agreed directly — we’d rather quote you honestly than publish a number that ages badly.

What you need to get started

Most setups need the following. A few items depend on your situation, and we’ll tell you which apply to you.

  • A business phone number you control — and the phone in hand, for the verification code
  • A Meta Business account for your business (we help you set this up)
  • A Twilio account in your business’s name
  • Your legal business name, consistent across your documents and accounts
  • A business document proving the business is real — usually the GST certificate
  • A business email on your own domain, where possible
  • A website or landing page
  • Your existing customer contacts, if you have a list you’re entitled to use
  • One person on your side who can approve messages and make decisions

Name consistency is the item that most often costs businesses weeks. If your GST certificate and your Meta account spell the business name even slightly differently, verification fails. The details are here: Meta Business Verification for Indian Shops.

What Deimix sets up, and what stays with you

Deimix does You do
Guides Meta setup and verification prep Provide accurate business details and documents
Connects your number to the WhatsApp Business Platform Hold the number and the accounts
Connects the Twilio layer Approve your messages and campaigns
Drafts, structures and submits templates Define your business rules — hours, services, offers

On timing: Meta’s business verification is Meta’s process and typically takes a few weeks. Template approval usually takes anywhere from a day to about a week. Neither is something Deimix — or any vendor — can guarantee or speed up. Plan for it, especially if you’re aiming to be live for a festival season.

The full onboarding checklist, stage by stage, is in The Complete WhatsApp Setup and Cost Guide.

What Deimix does not promise

We build the software and the workflow. We don’t control the outcome, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

No guarantees on leads, sales, revenue or growth. No guarantee that Meta approves your business verification or your templates, or how long either takes. No guarantee of message delivery or read rates. No promise of unlimited anything.

What you get is a system that answers reliably, follows up consistently and keeps a record. What that produces depends on your offer, your list, your prices and your team.

If you don’t have a website

If you already have a website, keep it — it works fine for verification as long as your business name and contact details are on it.

If you don’t have one, Deimix can provide a simple static landing page under the applicable offer. That’s a clean single page with your business name, what you do, and how to reach you — enough to satisfy Meta and give customers somewhere to land. It is not a full custom website, and a full custom website is not part of the ₹4,999 subscription. Your domain is a separate cost you pay directly to a registrar.

Beyond WhatsApp

Deimix is also a software development company. Separately from the WhatsApp platform, we build booking systems, client portals, trackers, custom internal workflows, websites, mobile apps and integrations with the systems you already run.

That’s a separate conversation and a separate quote, not something you need to consider now. Worth knowing it exists if WhatsApp turns out to be the first piece of something larger.

Common questions

Do I need a new phone number? Usually not. An existing number can often be transitioned onto the Platform where the setup supports it. Because a migration changes how that number works, we confirm what applies to your specific case before anything moves.

Can I keep using the WhatsApp Business App too? Many businesses keep the App running on a separate number for walk-ins or personal enquiries. What’s possible on the number you migrate depends on the setup, so we’ll confirm that with you.

What exactly does ₹4,999 cover? The Deimix platform — automation, campaigns, customer records, console, template work and setup support. Not Meta charges, not Twilio charges.

Who do I pay Meta and Twilio? Directly, on your own accounts. Deimix never sits between you and those bills, and takes no margin on them.

How long does setup take? Meta verification typically runs a few weeks, template approval usually a day to a week. Our side of the build runs in parallel. Start earlier than you think you need to.

Can I upload my existing customer list? Yes, if you have the right to contact those people. It can be organised and segmented once it’s in.

What if I don’t have a website? A simple static landing page can be provided under the applicable offer. The domain is your own separate cost.

What happens when a customer wants a real person? The conversation is routed to your team with the full history attached. Nobody has to ask the customer to repeat themselves.

The short version

  • Deimix is a WhatsApp-based customer engagement and automation platform. Your customers keep using ordinary WhatsApp.
  • It runs on the WhatsApp Business Platform, not the Business App, because that’s what allows automation, campaigns and team access.
  • Four parties: your business → Deimix → Twilio → Meta/WhatsApp. Three separate bills.
  • ₹4,999/month is the Deimix platform subscription. Meta and Twilio charge separately, on your own accounts, at their own rates.
  • Founding members — the first 10 — get that price locked for 12 months, free setup, and $25/month of Deimix usage credit. The credit is Deimix-side only; it doesn’t pay Meta or Twilio.
  • Business-initiated messages need approved templates. Customer-initiated conversations open a 24-hour window where you can reply freely — though Twilio’s per-message fee still applies.
  • You provide the business details, the number, the accounts and the decisions. Deimix builds and runs everything else.

What happens next

If you’d like to know whether this fits your business, the fastest way is a conversation — what you sell, how customers reach you now, and where things are falling through.
